Herliyani Suharta works for The Center of Energy Technology at the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (B2TE-BPPT), Jakarta, Indonesia (1979-now).
Her Doctor of Philosophy is from Hertfordshire University, UK (2005). Her Master of Philosophy from Sheffield University, UK (1987). Her first engineering degree from Institute Technology 10 November Surabaya (1978).
She has involved in many research activities in solar thermal under Bilateral Cooperation between Indonesia and Germany (1980-1994).
Involve in the Measuring System and Safety Course on The Use of Isopentane for Solar Thermal Pump, then she leaded Technology Transfer Project from a German industry to four Indonesian industries and Extended Field Test of Solar Thermal Pump Products (1989-1991)
Project of Liason for Timber Drying under Bilateral Cooperation between Indonesia and Japan (1993-1996).
Principal Investigator at The Center for Field Research at Earthwatch Institute, Massachusetts, USA (1994-1998).
Advisor to Indonesian Project Developer of CDM Solar Cooker Project, Aceh (2002).
Project Developer of CDM Cook Stove Project Kupang 1 (2005).
She published many scientific papers in the national and international forum/journal.
In January 2006, Herliyani Suharta received a national award: Professor in Research.
She is one among “THE BEST HUNDRED INDONESIAN FEMALE RESEARCHERS”, published by The Ministry for Women Empowerment and The Ministry for Cultural and Education in cooperate with UNESCO, December 2010.
She has experiences on global meetings and involved in international organizations.
